Gunung Lebah Temple, located in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia, is one of the island’s ancient and revered temples. Nestled at the confluence of the Wos rivers in the scenic Campuhan Valley, it is surrounded by lush greenery and a serene atmosphere, making it a peaceful spiritual sanctuary. The temple is believed to date back to the 8th century and was established by Rsi Markandeya, a Hindu sage, who is also credited with founding the famous Besakih Temple on Mount Agung.

“Gunung Lebah” translates to “small hill,” as the temple is situated on a slight elevation, giving it a tranquil and secluded ambiance. The temple plays an important role in Balinese Hindu rituals and ceremonies and is particularly associated with the practice of meditation and spiritual healing.

Visitors to the temple often appreciate its elaborate stone carvings, traditional Balinese architecture, and its integration with the surrounding natural landscape. While it may not be as widely known as some of Bali’s larger temples, Gunung Lebah offers a quieter, more intimate cultural experience for those exploring Ubud’s rich spiritual heritage.
